The Best Mascara? I Tested Popular Products!

the best mascara objective ranking

Girls, are you ready for long, thick eyelashes? Read on if you are!

I realize that eyelashes can be real troublemakers. On one hand, we dream of defined fans that turn heads, but, on the other hand, we don’t want to overburden our lashes. As far as my lashes go, I noticed that drugstore mascaras weren’t enough.

That’s the reason why I devoted lots of time to searching. Visiting some beauty sites, I came across 5 mascaras with positive reviews. I was looking forward to testing them and sharing my reviews with you.

I tested each mascara, considering the following factors:

  • quality and type of the mascara brush
  • how long mascara stays on
  • what lash looks I could count on
  • safety of the formula

Now it’s time for you to see which mascaras – IMO – deserve to be hailed the best.

Ranking of 5 Mascaras That Stand Out

I did as planned, and now you can read my round-up of the best mascaras.

1. Nanolash Mascara

the best mascara

The Nanolash Mascara is called a luxury and top-quality product. After testing it, I have no doubts it deserves the label. Let me share some product details:

  • the mascara comes with the silicone-bristle brush; thanks to the perfect shape, I could use it for coating the corner lashes which are super short.
  • the mascara doesn’t flake or smudge throughout the day.
  • the formula is rich in oils and botanical extracts for extra conditioning effects.
  • the mascara comes in a 10-ml tube which is much more than competitive products.
  • the product is available in two versions: Nanolash Volume Up Mascara and Nanolash Length & Curl Mascara.

The above list clearly shows what I make of the Nanolash mascara. I’ll just add that it has a smooth, velvety texture, and dries fast so I could build the intensity by adding more product.

2. Lashcode Mascara

lashcode mascara

Here’s a lengthening and thickening mascara. As far as the Lashcode Mascara goes, I’ll also round up some details:

  • it is a safe formula, also for sensitive eyes.
  • it is a long-lasting mascara; I never noticed any flaking.
  • it comes with a silicone brush – similar to the one Nanolash has.

I didn’t spot any bad sides of the product. Just a single stroke of the brush was enough to get perfectly separated, long and way thicker lashes. There was no clumping or lashes sticking together.

3. L’Oreal Panoramic Curl Mascara

The L’Oreal Panoramic Curl Mascara proved effective, however, I’m not sure if I’ll use it again. Here are some pros for a start:

  • the mascara comes with a well-shaped brush.
  • the product is great for giving lashes a curl.
  • it’s easy to apply, enveloping lashes throughout the length.

Sadly, the L’Oreal Panoramic Curl Mascara has a big flaw, that is flaking after a few hours. Obviously, that leaves the entire face makeup ruined. It isn’t the best mascara but it isn’t the worst either.

4. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

The Maybelline Great Lash Mascara takes another position on the list. It was supposed to produce salon-level effects, that is long, thick, curled lashes. Does it deliver on promises? Not really. I had to apply more coatings to achieve the effect. Still, there are some benefits:

  • fast drying; applying more product wasn’t a problem.
  • runny consistency for easier application.
  • a quite solid brush (yet I ended up getting mascara on the skin when trying to get to the corner lashes).

Unfortunately, it’s another product that isn’t long-wear enough. I wore it on a rainy day and ended up getting to work with “panda eyes” that I needed to fix fast with a concealer…

5. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

Next comes the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara. After testing I can say:

  • the mascara stays flake-free for the entire day.
  • the product is highly pigmented.
  • I didn’t notice any eye irritation.
  • lashes are thicker and longer after applying the first layer.

I was happy with the mascara, however, the brush was problematic – it has a narrow tip and sparsely-spaced bristles. Because of that, the lashes were stuck together and I hated it.

I have reviewed and rounded up five products – mascaras – that I tested. The Nanolash Mascara stays the leading pick, but I know you may have your own top choice.

You need to test and see which mascara works best on your lashes, producing desired results. Why don’t you share your reviews and thoughts? Together we will choose mascara that is second to none!
